Your habits, your device
Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
HabitFlip is an independent app by Ammar. For privacy questions, email ammar.ofc@gmail.com.
HabitFlip requires no account and has no app-operated backend, advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs. It does not upload your routines, app selections, habits, progress, or reflections to us.
Screen Time access
With your permission, HabitFlip uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to pause the apps or categories you choose. Selections are opaque tokens supplied by Apple’s picker; HabitFlip does not use the separate app-and-website-usage data-access capability to obtain readable application identifiers or browsing information. Apple’s system components display selected app labels. Website blocking is not supported.
Information on your device
- Routines and progress: routine names, habits, schedules, selected app/category tokens, reminder choices, guided-period settings, completion history, and held habit requirements are stored in a shared, device-only Keychain item. The app and its monitoring extension use the same access group. This item is accessible after the first device unlock following a restart and is not configured for iCloud Keychain synchronization.
- Shared app files: an App Group container holds migration backups and older selections, schedules, or habit definitions when present. Legacy session data may remain as a migration source.
- Preferences: local preferences remember setup and prior Screen Time authorization.
- Reflection and checklist input: unfinished reflection text and checklist responses are held in memory and cleared when you finish, leave the activity, or background the app. Habit completion is saved; the writing and individual checklist responses are not saved as a history.
- Diagnostics: local scheduling timestamps or status messages may be retained for troubleshooting. They do not include reflection text or activity responses.
Optional reminders
If you allow notifications, HabitFlip schedules local reminders on your device. Reminder content includes the routine name and a short prompt, so the name may appear on your lock screen according to your notification settings. Choose Not now during setup to skip reminders for that routine, or manage permission in App settings and iOS Settings. HabitFlip does not operate a remote push-notification service.
Retention and your choices
You can edit, pause, or remove routines when they are not holding an active app pause. Removing a routine removes its entry, selected apps, and history from the current routine archive. Existing migration files may remain. Finishing a routine releases its active hold but retains its routine definition and completion progress.
App settings offers Revoke Screen Time access when no routine is holding apps paused. You also control authorization through iOS. Revoking access does not erase saved routines or progress; granting access again can restore enforcement for unfinished routines.
There is no single erase-all-data control. Keychain items can survive uninstall, so deleting and reinstalling HabitFlip may restore saved routines or active requirements. Ordinary app-file backups and restoration are controlled by iOS and your Apple settings. Device-only Keychain items do not migrate to another device. We cannot access or remotely erase data stored only on your device.
Audio and links
Meditation audio is bundled and does not stream. Opening Privacy, Support, or audio-credit links makes a normal web request to that website; its operator handles the visit under its own policy. Apple may process system-service and diagnostic information according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.
Support email
If you email support, we receive your email address and information you choose to include. Our email provider processes those messages. We use them to respond and troubleshoot, retain them while needed for that purpose or applicable obligations, and do not use them for advertising. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of support correspondence. Please omit private reflections, medication details, and sensitive screenshots.
